WERE YOUR TWINS CONCEIVED NATURALLY?

This is a terrible question to ask any parent. Every kid is “natural” and is not “artificial”. In our case, both sets of twins were made when my husband, Adam, and I drank some wine, got a little frisky and… you know the rest.

do twins run in your family?

Yes. Both identical and fraternal. Adam’s mother was an identical twin (whose identical twin sister ended up marrying Adam’s dad after Adam’s mother passed away — that’s a story for another day) and Marissa’s fraternal grandfather was a fraternal twin.

DID YOU KNOW YOU WERE GOING TO HAVE TWINS

No! No one knows they are going to have twins before they actually find out they are having twins.

WHAT DO YOU AND YOUR HUSBAND DO FOR WORK

We are co-founders of a startup we started in 2015. We help USA companies make products overseas. We specialize in bags (backpacks, diaper bags, luggage) and apparel as well as some accessories. We started this company as an excuse to live overseas. Working with your spouse is both rewarding and difficult. Happy to chat more about that!

Why did you think you were having di/di (fraternal twins) with your first set?

Our first set presented themselves as Di/Di twins, meaning there were two saks and two placentas. After they were born, we had them tested and it turns out that they are identical. abut 20-25% of same sex di-di twins are actually identical. MIND BLOWN!

HOW DO YOU TRAVEL SO MUCH WITH SO MANY KIDS?

Our whole motto and is “Get out and Go”. Life is so much more enjoyable when we are out and about and doing adventures. We want to raise our children to be adaptable, worldly and kind. Traveling helps us do this. Yes it can be stressful, and most of the time exhausting, but it’s what makes us us and we love it!
